LET YOUR HEART BE HEARD is an exciting event tailored for an audience who place importance on great quality original music.The line up for the evening is local, musically texured and captivating. Expect to hear everything from a musical saw, to west african sabaar drums, to a string quartet and much, much more.
This event will be held at the Blue Bird Garage, complete with food stalls and a bar.
We invite you to come and celebrate the launch of 4 completed Rootspring albums by Native Young, Ottoman Slap, Amathongo & Vuyo Katsha.

Amathongo: An evolving world music project which mixes traditional African styles with Jazz and a great variety of other music genres. It features particularly sounds of traditional Southern African musical bows and other traditional African Instruments. Amathongo aim to take you on a beautiful musical journey, and hopefully uplift you in that process. “Amathongo" means "Ancestral spirits" and within their playing in this group they all, in some way reveal their own ancestral roots. www.amathongo.com
Ottoman Slap: Sprung of the Capetonian creative woodwork in late 2012, Ottoman Slap truly create a beautiful and memorable backdrops to events. They draw their inspiration to their music from a range of ethnic and traditional music including Romanian folk songs and Arabic musical treasures. www.ottomanslap.co.za
Vuyo Katsha: A talented Mbira player who draws on African musical styles from Senegal, Mali, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Southern Africa. He very ably plays a host of African instruments including Akadinda, Amadinda, Marimba, Sabar, Djembe and Tama talking drums. In addition to studying African music & Dance at the University of Cape Town, he has performed all over the world with Amampondo and shared the stage with the legendary Salif Keita, Youssou Ndor, Ismael Lo and Cheikh Lo, to name a few.
Native Young: An ensemble consisting of individuals from different cultural backgrounds, pushing the boundaries of afro-pop musical fusion.
