Dreams matter. And TED2016 will be dedicated to the greatest dreams we are capable of dreaming and feats of imagineering, invention and innovation. It will be a time to stare hard at humanity’s toughest challenges, to listen to our greatest thinkers, artists and storytellers.
TEDxCapeTown will be livestreaming TED2016 from Vancouver, Canada. Join us for an evening of Ideas Worth Spreading at TEDxCapeTownLive at our host venue at OvenBaked in Muizenburg.
Highlights:
- 11 speakers from around the globe — including activists, scientists, urban planners, dancers and artists, and technologists. Click here to see the speakers. (Scroll down to Sessions 6 and 7 for our speakers).
- A space and environment to meet others who are interested in engaging and sharing Ideas Worth Spreading.
We will be streaming session 6 and either session 3 or 7.

Delicious wood-fired pizza (and more) and drinks will be available throughout the evening from Oven Baked.
All proceeds from food and drinks sales will go to support the Surf Outreach program (see below)
*Note: You are welcome to bring their own liquor (wine/beer etc) as Oven Baked do not yet have a liqour license
Getting to TEDxCapeTownLive
We encourage attendees to travel together - why not jump in a car with some friends, grab an Uber or take the train to make the journey part of the evening's fun?
Drive: gather your friends, enter 165 Main Road Muizenburg into your map app and jump in the car. Plenty of parking is available at the venue.
Uber: gather your friends, grab and Uber and relax.
Train: get the train at your closet train station and jump off at Muizenburg station - Oven Baked is only a few hundred meters away.
Or take the train to Muizenburg and Uber home. Traveling in a group is safer and most cost effective.

Oven Baked is a restaurant taking pride in the use of wood fired ovens to produce great meals. Situated on the False Bay coastline-a stones throw from the ocean- our main aim is to provide excellent food using the freshest ingredients at an affordable price.
Oven Baked is also established hand in hand with the Surf Outreach program, helping and giving back to the community through providing children with a safe invironment to spend their free time after school aswel as teaching them how to surf in the process.
