Roots and Fruits has always been about recognising where we're from, where we're at now and where we're going. We're teaming up with ALL DAY SELECTION to bring you a new version of the show in a live stream format. Coming straight from Wonderland on the backdrop of their iconic LED walls.

While Roots and Fruits usually focuses on a specific genre’s origins and progression and manifestations through to the genre’s current sounds, the Keep Growing series will focus on each DJ’s unique “Roots” and “Fruits” to give us a more intimate idea as to who they are and where they come from. The format is open to interpretation but each artist will play two 20 minute sets to tell their stories through music and remind and motivate us all to KEEP GROWING!

From RNB deep cuts, Hip hop, House, Gqom, Electro, Techno and everything in between. You’ll have to tune in to find out exactly what these DJ’s have in store.

Due to COVID-19 many performers and artists of all kinds have lost massive sections on income due to restrictions on movement and a want and respect for the safety of themselves and those around them. Aside from an income loss, musical artists specifically, despite having gotten extremely creative during these times are experiencing a stark lack of access to equipment. DJ’s in Cape Town specifically, for the most part do not have access to the equipment required to participate in what they love. KEEP GROWING and ALLDAYSELECTION hopes to figure out ways to help adapt to the current situation by extending what infrastructure we have at our disposal (venues, equiptment, streaming/recording setup, production experience) to DJs looking for a place to express themselves through music and their craft. We hope this event is one of many but need as much help as possible to get the word out.

Although the live stream is free, we wanted to give our guests a unique way of supporting our DJs. The people who’ve given us countless soundtracks to some unbelievable nights. Since we’re all about creating memorable experiences, we decided to come up with a gift shop with custom made products to celebrate the event.

Unlike the traditional gift shop, we’re treating this as a fundraising platform. Where a range of items will be on offer for you to choose from. Whether you’d like to get your hands on cheaper tickets for the next Roots and Fruits event or add limited edition pieces to your wardrobe. You’ll find a facemask or t-shirt to suit your style.

All these products are a vital part of the store because the proceeds from each sale will go to our performing artists. Items found in the shop are made with the sole purpose of giving guests something wonderful in exchange for supporting the artists, who grace our stage with their presence. Place your order asap <3
