Episode 8: Money in the Time of Matrescence

Thu Aug 27, 20:00 - Thu Aug 27, 21:30

For the first New Normal Episode of 2020, we've teamed up with personal financial blogger and content creator, Kashiefa Parker of Financial Fitness for Women to talk about Money in the time of Matrescence.

As women, when we fall pregnant and then become mothers we are all consumed with this new stage of life- from navigating our changing bodies and identities and all the emotional, practical and psychological work and preparation that comes with this. A blind spot many of us dont consider however is how to navigate our finances during this time, both as individuals but also within a partnership with our significant other.

Preparing for birth and having a baby is a huge financial burden, especially now with Covid 19 which no one planned for, Many couples are experiencing job losses and immense financial stress on top of having had a baby during lockdown or who are expecting one. The purpose of this talk is to encourage a focus on financial fitness and health for this new stage of life in this new world.
