Join us at the iHI health hackathon pitching session on 15 August 2015
On 15 August 2015, health workers, entrepreneurs, designers, students and software developers will come together in teams at the innovation hub @ Groote Schuur Hospital to co-create innovative technological solutions that address real healthcare challenges, all in under 12 hours. Join us at the pitching session to hear about the solutions that were developed during the day. 
 
What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is an intensive marathon of open brainstorming, experimentation and coding to connect people from different to create operable prototypes within tight time constraints. It’s a collaborative, fun way to build solutions to address pressing healthcare challenges.
 
The iHI hackathon on 15 August 2014
Teams of designers, coders and developers will be working together on the day to create solutions to real healthcare challenges. At the end of the day, teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. A number of exciting prizes and opportunities are up for grabs.

Inclusive Healthcare Innovation is a collaborative platform created to catalyse healthcare innovation in Africa. It is powered by passionate people. It is the initiative of the GSB Bertha Centre for Social Innovation, in partnership with the UCT Faculty of Health Sciences. 

At the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, we work to uncover, connect, pioneer, and advance social innovators and entrepreneurs who share our passion for achieving social justice and for generating inclusive opportunities in Africa. Established, in partnership with the Bertha Foundation, within the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business (GSB) in 2011 it's the first academic centre in Africa dedicated to advancing social innovation and entrepreneurship. Since 2011 it's integrated social innovation into the GSB’s curriculum, and awarded over R3 million in scholarships to African students. Its work is focused around four key initiatives which is: inclusive healthcare innovations, innovative finance, educations innovations and pathways to scale.
