Derek Gripper Curfew Session

ABOUT

It took Derek Gripper untold hours of painstaking work to transcribe note-for-note the complex compositions of Malian kora player Toumani Diabaté and find a way of playing them on six-string guitar. In ten years of performing this music in concert halls around the world, from Carnegie Hall to The Royal Albert Hall, Derek will present the most intimate concert possible, a concert in his own home.

Experience the virtuoso music of Africa, the desert music of Mali, the counterpoint of Bach and Derek's latest music from his record "A Year of Swimming."

The time for a return to gatherings of people to listen to live music has still not come. But we do still have one mode of resistance - live concerts in our home online. Derek has been perfecting this unique digital intimacy since the start of lockdown with special concerts for audiences in the US, Europe and Australia, playing for series that would have been live.
