ABOUT

We're excited to present the first ever Roots Up Session! Roots Up Session is a series of multi-camera, high quality live streamed performances.

Our first act is Jaedon Daniel! Jaedon has been someone we have worked with on countless occasions throughout the past and we're super stoked to have him on board. The homie is talented to say the least. Special thanks to the good people at Humble Coffee for hosting us. Be sure to hit them up for some tasty coffee.

"Jaedon Daniel is a multifaceted pianist, composer and producer who encompasses the monumental sounds of jazz, hiphop and soul through the various avenues of a rapidly growing career. Currently based in Durban, Jaedon has been widely influential in the local jazz and pop scene. Jaedon previously studied jazz piano at UKZN under the renowned Niel Gonsalves, Burton Naidoo and Sibusiso Mashalwane. As a pianist Jaedon has been in high demand after accompanying a variety of well known South African artists such as Kyle Deutsch, Rowlene Bosman, ByLwansta, Red Robyn, Afrogong, Windows 2000, Lucas Raps, Lungelo Manzi, Nipho Hurd, Life of Sallie and Raheem Kemet to name a few. Jaedon is an unconventional pianist as he explores the role of producer and composer all while founding and leading jazz and hiphop collective called the Blvck Crystals. Through producing a number of solo tracks, Jaedon extends the boundaries of what it means to be a pianist in the 21st century."

Unfortunately Lungelo Manzi has fallen ill and will feature in an upcoming episode of Roots Up Sessions once he has recovered.

Be sure to look out for the next Roots Up Session, they're coming at you every second Saturday live at 20:30.
