ABOUT

Cape Town Swing dance community is pleased to announce a fundraiser screening of

      CTRL+ALT+DANCE the Movie

A movie by dancers for dancers! In what promises to be a memorable evening evening of dinning, dancing and entertainment, hosted by the beautiful Cape Town Hollow Boutique Hotel.

The evening's festivities will open at 18:45 with dinner and dancing at Eighty-Ate, the hotel's restaurant and bar. There'll be big band jazz, smooth blues and all those sweet sounds from the 1930 to the fifties to get us into the swing of things! So put on your dance shoes and join us for dinner and a whirlwind of Swing, Charleston and Lindy-Hop.

When the clock strikes eight fifteen, we move up stairs to watch, CTRL+ALT+DANCE the Movie.

All funds raised from the film screening will go to growing and supporting swing dancing in the greater Cape region. Cape Town Swing has no staff at this time, so all funds go back to the dance community through events, parties, venue bookings, engaging international instructors, webhosting or advertising.

Synopsis
Ctrl+Alt+Dance is about Colin, an unemployed security software specialist, who through a case of mistaken identity is hired as a dance teacher at a local school. An adventure ensues as he tries to stay one step ahead of a vengeful hacker, a suspicious principal, and a gorgeous dance instructor. Action overcomes fear as he falls head over heels into the world of Lindy Hop.

20:15 - Movie starts, so make sure you have found your seats for the night and you have bought your drinks and popcorn from the bar.

What is Swing Dancing?
Before there was Jive, Rock 'n Roll or West Coast Swing, the dance halls of the USA were filled the Lindy Hop, 6-Count and Charleston. From the saltry jazz of the 1920s to the big band jazz of the 1940s, everything that has that jazz swing, you'll find fun to dance to.

Who is Cape Town Swing
Cape Town Swing is a registered non-profit in South Africa (512-505 NPO) run by a group of lindy hoppers who are working to grow the swing dancing scene in Cape Town. We organise parties and special events and are well into planning the first international Lindy Hop Festival in South Africa, Mother City Hop 2016. We are passionate about introducing as many people as we can to swing dancing and hope they'll come to love it as much as we do!

Mother City Hop
A swing festival in Cape Town, South Africa, from the 19th-21st March 2016. Three days of workshops, social dancing, live music and parties in and around our beautiful city. With some of the best international swing dance instructors coming to South Africa, it's going to be an unforgettable weekend and a very special first for Cape Town.

We are currently running an Indiegogo campaign to gauge interest and build excitement for the festival, so if you're wanting to get your hands on the Early Bird tickets, you have untill August 7, 2015 to take advantage of the specials and show your support.
