Nic Rush is one of South Africa’s most highly regarded Rock Guitarists, and has performed well in excess of 7000 gigs over the course of his career.
Nic is a very proud Yamaha Endorsee and has used Yamaha Acoustic (LJX-6C and LL16-D) and Electric Guitars (Revstar Series: RS620, RS502 Pacifica Series: Pac611HFM, Pac612VFM, AES920, SG2000) exclusively since 2011. He is also Endorsed by Marshall Amplification South Africa ( JVM410HJS,1936 2x12 Cab, Origin 50C) D’Addario Strings (EXP and NYXL), Planet Waves Cables and Accessories (American Stage cable by D’addario, Planet Waves Solderless Cable Kits) and Line 6 guitar effects (Helix)
From 2003 to 2011 he served as Lead Guitarist for one of South Africa's most successful bands at the time, Watershed, earning himself 3 Gold and 2 Platinum Record awards, playing on every major festival stage in South Africa and numerous overseas tours to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the U.K., the U.S.A, Canada, Dubai, Bahrain, Swaziland, and Mozambique. During his time with Watershed his guitar playing was featured on the soundtrack of the National Geographic Documentary “Relentless Enemies”, narrated by Jeremy Irons.
From 2011 to 2013 Nic played guitar in Brent Harris and Thee Jam with legendary South African drummer Brent Harris, and still performs with Brent at various gigs to this day. In 2013 Nic was offered a position at The Barnyard Theatre Company as a Musical Director, Lead Guitarist and Vocalist and left the company in June 2017 to pursue other musical ventures.
As a promoter Nic Started Rush Productions in June 2017 which to date has staged 8 highly successful events in the Johannesburg area which included 3 editions of The Saturday Social Club at Emperors Palace Casino, featuring the biggest bands in South African Rock,
Six String Stories, a tribute to the greatest and most successful guitar songs of all time, and the sold out hit show The Dark Side Of the Wall - A Tribute To Pink Floyd and The Doors.
Amongst all of this Nic performs regularly as a live-looping solo acoustic artist, as a gun-for-hire in several Afro-Pop Corporate bands and with his own Rock Cover band Black Ice, and is currently in the planning stages for launching his next original Rock band and will be releasing his first Instrumental album in 2020.
