After over thirty years of arranging a vast array of fundraising events, both locally and abroad, Jill Ritchie presents this workshop on conceptualising, planning and arranging events. Jill is the author of Successful Fundraising Events, the only book devoted to event fundraising written by a South African for South Africans. She will share her experience in organising hundreds of events, from evenings with rugby, cricket and soccer heroes and entertainment greats to auctions and dinners at venues around the globe. She will advise on running competitions, carnivals and theatre gala evenings and has often raised more than R1million from one event. Whether one wishes to hold an event for a CBO, school, church or club, a university or large national NPO, this course is ideal. Attendees will learn to assess the viability of an idea before wasting time, energy or money. The critical issue of budgeting is covered through an easy and logical process, tips are given for involving celebrities and the subject of seeking sponsorship is demystified.
