We are proud and extremely excited to announce our tribute to the mighty KATATONIA. Please join us for a night of doom metal and dark progressive rock.
The evening will trace Katatonia's music over the last 20 years, and the setlist was chosen to appeal to both die-hard fans and newcomers to the band's music.
From their beginnings as brooding death-doom metal, through to the melancholic gothic rock of their adolescence, to the haunting and austere progressive metal sound they have today — the sound that has placed them as one of the most important bands in contemporary metal.
Sweeping, ethereal synths paint a backdrop to progressive metal which is by turns both crushing and heartbreakingly tender.
The show will feature songs from their earliest records to their latest, from Brave Murder Day (1996) to The Fall of Hearts (2016).
This tribute to Katatonia is a collaboration between members of some of Cape Town's notable bands in alternative and progressive music. Rehearsed with dedication and meticulous detail, and performed with passion and the spirit of the music, we aim to bring faithful renditions of Katatonia's music to the stage.
