FREEDOM FESTIVAL SA POSTPONED
 


FREEDOM FESTIVAL SA regrets to announce the postponement of the festival. 

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the festival’s control which can not be resolved before the dates of the festival, the festival has been postponed.

New dates for the festival will be advised in due course.


TICKETS:  Tickets already bought for the festival, will be valid for use on the new dates of the festival.

Ticket-buyers who would like a refund on their tickets, can email Quicket at s[email protected] for a refund. All requests will be dealt with and refunded by 18 May 2015.


Due to the change in dates the line-up may vary.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is an American rock band from Middleburg, Florida. The Airborne Toxic Event is an American indie rock band from Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California. Gangs of Ballet
Gangs of Ballet is a Durban band comprising of four musicians and friends – three of which have undertaken studying Music at University level. Their music, which combines their fresh energy with their musically intriguing melodies and arrangements, has a hauntingly anthemic sound which appeals both to the musically-minded as well as to those merely seeking a fun musical experience. Their sound cannot be pinned down to one specific genre but rather experiments with an eclectic mix of alternative, melodic, anthemic, electronic and dance.

The Narrow
The Narrow began in 2002, an idea spawned by Emile (Guitars), Jow (Bass Guitar), Sid (Guitars) and Lias (Drummer). Lacking a vocalist at this stage it made sense to bring in Hanu. Hanu and Emile de Jong, were lead vocalist and lead guitarist respectively for South African rock band “Not My Dog” and it was an obvious choice to continue this collaboration in South Africa. Since forming The Narrow, the band very quickly developed their own sound and identity whilst retaining elements of their roots.

WHAT IS FREEDOM FEST?
FREEDOM FEST is a 1 day Music Festival, featuring top international and local bands and artists for 1 day of fun under the sun!

WHERE IS FREEDOM FEST?
The West Coast Ostrich Ranch – Cape Town on the 27th of April 2015.

CAN I BRING MY CHILD TO FREEDOM FEST?
Yes, you can bring your child, however only if your child is accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Any unaccompanied child or person under the age of 18 will not be able to attend this event on their own.

 
ARE DRUGS ALLOWED?
NO “drugs” or illegal substances of any sort will be allowed into or at the event. You may be subjected to a search on arrival, so let’s keep it clean guys and girls.


ARE WE ALLOWED TO BRING OUR OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?
Unfortunately not, however, there will be concession stands, stalls, bars and kiosks throughout the venue (both in Pretoria and Cape Town ) to cater for all your food and drink needs!

 
WILL I BE ABLE TO LEAVE AND RETURN TO THE EVENT?
“Why would you want to”. Unfortunately there will be no pass outs unless under extreme circumstances as approved by management.
 

DO YOU HAVE PARK AND RIDE?
Yes this service will be provided. We are currently in negotiations to provide this service to FREEDOM FEST goers.


WILL THERE BE ATMS?
The motto still holds: cash is king and plastic’s fantastic. We’ll have ATM machines on-site, but if you want to avoid paying annoying transaction fees or standing in queues, rather bring enough cash to last the day. There will also be credit and debit card facilities at all main bars, but remember, food and trade vendors generally only accept cash.


IS THERE A SAFE PLACE TO KEEP MY STUFF?
Yes! There will be facilities available for hire at your own risk. First come first serve and they are limited in number, so pack light!

 
WHAT IF I LOSE MY KEYS OR WALLET?
There will be a lost-and-found kiosk at FREEDOM FEST 2015 where you can report, drop off or collect lost items, and we will be posting pictures of all the lost items on our Facebook page for a week after the event.

 
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN CAMERAS
No unauthorized professional film or video equipment is allowed on-site. Cameras for personal use are welcome.

 
DO YOU HAVE FACILITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?
We do have wheel chair access at both venues. FREEDOM FEST 2015 is a festival for everyone, that’s why we’re making sure that all our guests are catered for and all our areas are accessible. If you have any special needs, please contact us on [email protected] BEFORE the 1st April 2015 so we can make any necessary arrangements for a hassle free FREEDOM FEST 2015. Please understand that there are limited facilities available.

 
WHAT SHOULD I BRING ON THE DAY?
  • First and foremost an open mind, a good attitude and of course your ticket.
  • And don’t forget your mates.
  • Identification: ID book, passport or a valid SA Driver’s License
  • The ESSENTIALS: ticket, sun block, cap/hat, something warm, money, sunglasses!

WHAT CAN'T I BRING?
Firearms, pets, banned substances and people who don’t like awesome music… especially people who don’t like awesome music, please just leave them at home in front of the television.

 
WHAT TIME DO GATES OPEN?
The gates open at 09h00 AM. That’s 9 o’clock in the morning. Yes, we needed to explain that. Why you ask? You’ll be amazed…

 
MAY I BRING A CHAIR?
Yes of course, chairs and blankets will be allowed; setting up of a camp site is not. Strictly camping chairs and picnic blankets only.

 
IM A MEMBER OF THE PRESS - HOW I DO GET A PASS?
FREEDOM FEST 2015 will issue press passes. This will be to pre-approved members of the press. If you plan to cover our event, you’ll need to register with our Media Team prior to the event.
