ABOUT

Future Fusion Festival [FFF] is a three day electronic music festival hosting one of the biggest contemporary line-ups in this part of Africa.

It aims to fuse the most inspiring, genuine and forward thinking electronic artists from past, present and future with a touch of speculative goodness to please even the pickiest of ears.

The Inaugural festival dons a 'Futuristic Safari' theme and is held over seven carefully constructed stages and arenas to provide a multi-sensory experience presenting over 60 international and local artist. These include a slew of first time performances in Africa.

8000 of Africa’s electronic enthusiasts will have three days to experience this outright boastful production featuring one large open air stage, an old sleeping hall- we mean warehouse, A Big Top tent, The Backyard BBQ and the smallest nightclub in Africa right on site.

The scenic location will offer patrons the option of three natural dams, a paintball area, an Urban Arts Village, exquisite cuisine and gourmet foods, Safaris, morning Helicopter rides, an outdoor cinema, VIP Pool parties, party Boma areas and a variety of accommodation options. [Programme coming soon]

But these appetising options would be nothing without the real reason many of South African’s will flock to FFF on April 24th, 25th and 26th 2015. The festival is partner to a mouth dropping line up of record labels that have spoiled the country’s dance floors for decades. The artists are a carefully selected legacy to the global underground and house music movement, both past and present.

The festival is held in a mountainous setting, on a resort just 18km from Potchefstroom towards Vereeniging, south of Johannesburg.

"Together at, FFF HQ, we worked day and night, hand selecting artists and brands for the line-up and to create the most innovative and daring production setups.

"The stage designs and entertainment options are in a scenic setting that is both wild and breathtakingly beautiful.

"We want nothing more than to provide you with a truly memorable festival experience with an eccentric focus on the sound quality and music," said Rick Hein, Director of Breathe- Out Entertainment, the company spearheading FFF.

Our decade has seen a monumental boom in electronic music and South Africa is currently at its core. The sub Saharan cradle of humankind is now under a global spotlight for its catapulting electronic and house music culture.

All in all these are very exciting times in South Africa’s dance music history.

Dennis Ferrer
Right place, right time. It's an old cliché, but it's one that's been the definition of Dennis Ferrer's musical career. Justas the dance music world was heading into the world of afro-centric house, Ferrer was there. And then, when it began to embrace the mix of tech and soul, Ferrer was there again, leading the way with his impeccable productions. As Ferrer goes, it seems, so does electronic music. And, as someone who's never content to do the same thing twice, it's clear that he'll be staying on top for years to come.

Lee Foss
Few DJs have made such a dramatic impact on the underground house and techno scene over the last few years as Lee Foss. Described by DJ Mag as “one of the most talented new forces in modern dance music today” and by fellow future house innovators Art Department as their favourite producer, Lee has firmly established himself in dance music’s collective consciousness. Lee and his Hot Natured band mates Jamie Jones and Infinity Ink are currently leading a whole family of like-minded producers that includes Richy Ahmed, WaFF, Digitaria, Robert James and Miguel Campbell, who are currently re-writing the rulebook of how to make evocative, emotive house music. In 2010 he was the highest new entry into Resident Advisor’s key Top 100 DJs poll, entering at number 38 and by 2011 he had climbed to number 18 in the chart, a huge feat given that he only played his first European gig in 2009.

NOIR
Still based in Aalborg, Noir is now firmly established in the first rank of house DJs with bookings all over the world. Last June he recorded his first Essential Mix for Radio One, and he’s just returned from the BPM festival in Mexico, where one of his original heroes, Kevin Saunderson, played at a Noir Music showcase. And while he continues to live that eight year old kid’s dream as a DJ/musician, next on the musical agenda is ‘Angel’, the first collaboration with Hayze in the three years since the completion of ‘Around’. An early Giorgio Moroder-style bassline, fused with a techno vibe and a heartfelt vocal from Hayze, it might well be an even bigger smash than ‘Around’. Not that Noir is too bothered. “I don’t have a strategy,” he insists. “I just have a passion for sharing the music that I love.”

Robert James has made a big impact in a short time. First surfacing amidst a new wave of house talent on Lee Foss and Jamie Jones’ label du jour, Hot Creations, he has gone on to take his infectious dancefloor sound to all corners of the globe as well as labels like LA based Culprit, Jef K’s Silver Network and the legendary Strictly Rhythm.

It was hearing Andy Weatherall at Sankeys in 2005, however, which inspired Robert to leave the army and focus on music full time: Since then he’s laid out his own nu-school sonic template with releases like “Sleep Moods”, “Malibu” (alongside Burnski) and “Big Ass Biscuit” (as Pteradactil Disco with Jamie, Lee and Fb Julian) begin championed by international spinners and respected music press alike.
