Change for the Better Foundation is registered as a Section 21 company for non-profit with the Department of Social Development under registration number 138-142 NPO and we are also registered as a non-profit Company with the Companies Office under registration number 2018/294118/08.

Our primary aim is to make a difference in the lives of thousands of animals by establishing a culture of caring and giving and we do this through our education - and sterilization programes. We concentrate on the animals with no voice and no choice - the most vulnerable in our society. 

We currently rent the farm the shelter is based on and our lease expires at the end of December 2018. The Landlord has however placed the farm on the market and received an offer to purchase for R4.8m; placing us on terms that not only put the Shelter and the work we do in jeopardy but also the lives of the 250 animals in our care. Having first option to purchase the property we have until the end of December 2018 to raise the R4.8m and present an unconditional offer to purchase failing which we need to vacate the property along with all the animals.
