Tygerberg Wetlands Cleanup

ABOUT

A unique, FREE event to help protect and restore our local wetland.

We will:

• Plant 100 locally indigenous wetland plants.
• Clean litter from the water.
• Learn more about and remove invasive species.
• Record wildlife and plants.
• Learn about the value of wetlands in urban settings.
• Experience the difference between a semi-restored section of wetland versus an overgrown, invaded section of wetland.
• See the famous waterblommetjie plant in its natural habitat (a traditional, indigenous ingredient in Cape food, specifically waterblommetjiebredie)
