Rock the Boat is a benefit show in aid of a Friend.
Klein Libertas Theatre in Stellenbosch plays host to a once-off event for 1 night only.
Foto Na Dans & New Holland will be playing their first show in nearly 2 years in aid of a good friend that was in a car accident. These 2 great bands will be joined by the legendary Heuwels Fantasties & also Black Handed Kites.

This project came to life after 27 year old Johann Botes, “Botes”, as he is affectionately known, was involved in a serious car accident outside Velddrif, Western Cape on 5 December 2012. News spread like wildfire through his massive network of friends. Messages and prayers started pouring in for our friend who is anonymous with embracing life.
Botes suffered multiple head injuries, femur and pelvic fractures.
Doctors refer to his narrow escape as a miracle and are amazed by his progress.
After more than a month in ICU, 8 weeks in rehab and endless months of therapy, funds are running out. His medical aid has been exhausted and although he has shown remarkable progress, it might take him months, even years, of therapy and physical rehabilitation to make a full recovery.
Botes was flung from the car and survived on his own for several hours before he was found. The fight for life epitomizes Botes’s undying spirit. Time has proven his happiness to be contagious. Our love for this one-of-a-kind individual encouraged us to create an event that will not only help Botes’s recovery but also be a reflection of his happy attitude and "good times" philosophy!
Botes is well acquainted with some talented South African musicians and these friends offered their musical services for free. Die Heuwels Fantasties needs no introduction; their name on any bill guarantees a steady attendance. Both Foto Na Dans and New Holland are stepping out of retirement for this once-off extravaganza.
On 6 September the bands, ourselves and hopefully you, are uniting through a shared love for a mutual friend, or a future-friend if you haven’t met, and an opportunity to be involved with something wholly good!
