ABOUT

  • As far back as 1932 the legendary Mozambique-born British vocalist Al Bowlly made the first ever recording of a song called “Love Is The Sweetest Thing”.

The introductory verse goes:

“Love is the sweetest thing/ What else on earth could ever bring/

Such happiness to everything/ As Love’s old story”.

A very romantic (and romanticised) message, for sure. But, as most people would testify, the path to finding and retaining Love is not quite so easy and can be a rocky one indeed. This would go a long way to explaining why literally thousands of songs have been written over the years on the subject, and many of them with a VERY DIFFERENT take on what Love can be all about.

In this show we take you on a musical journey, exploring “The Highways and Byways of Love” – a journey which will explore the many emotions that can be associated with looking for, finding (and even losing) Love. All this expressed in perceptive lyrics set to memorable melodies written by some of the great songwriters over the years, (and also with also a dash of humour thrown in for good measure).

Join us on this journey. We promise you we will do our best to ensure we will all reach a happy destination together.
