The Golden Lions Rugby Union Fund Raising Raffle Competition is an initiative established to give back to our community. Funds raised go towards sports development projects run either directly under the Lions structure or alternatively by our extensive Club / School Development initiatives. You get to choose which organisation you want to support whilst also giving yourself a chance to win fantastic prizes. We encourage you to buy tickets and make a contribution towards social upliftment / development initiatives being undertaken by the relevant organisations within your community, or alternatively to one of the projects that are being driven by Lions Rugby.   • 1st Prize: R100,000 paid into a Bond Account / Deposit for a house / Educational Trust
     
  • 2nd Prize: Win a minimum 1 year contract with Teljoy for their ‘home in a box’ package which could include a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer

TERMS & CONDITIONS
 
All People entering this raffle competition (the entrants) agree that the raffle competition rules as set out in these terms and conditions are binding on them, as set out below.
The Organiser of this raffle competition is the Ellis Park Development Company (EPDC) NPO. For purposes of this raffle competition Lions means the GLRU (registered number 1926/01/02881/20), all subsidiaries and associates of the GLRU.
The entrant acknowledges that he/she has been given enough time to read these terms and conditions before entering into this raffle competition. The entrant is aware of all the terms printed in bold.
 
METHOD OF ENTRY:
Entrants will need to purchase a raffle ticket for R100,00 and will receive a number. The duplicate number will be placed in a raffle box retained, sealed by the EPDC and a random draw will then be done after the 31st of March 2017.
 
PRIZES:
1st Prize: R100,000 paid into a Bond Account / Deposit for a house / Educational Trust
2nd Prize: Win a minimum 1 year contract with Teljoy for their ‘home in a box’ package which could include a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer    
3rd Prize: Win a minimum 1 year ‘rent to own’ car rental contract  
 
RULES OF THE RAFFLE:
This raffle competition starts on the 1st August 2016 and ends on the 31st of March 2017, it is open to all members of the public.
In order to qualify as an entrant, tickets must be bought from the start date of the raffle competition to the closing date, (both dates included);
The entrant must provide correct and full personal contact details, as required;
The entrant must be 18 years and older;
In order to participate in the raffle, entrants will be required to buy raffle tickets at a cost of R100,00 per ticket. Entrants can buy as many raffle tickets as they want to increase their chances of winning.
The winners of this raffle competition will be randomly chosen from all qualifying entrants by means of a lucky draw to take place after the 31st March 2017.
 
There will be three (3) winners in total for this competition.
The prize winners will be required to collect the prize from the GLRU upon presentation of proof of ticket purchase, containing the corresponding number.
 
When the prize winner accepts their prizes, the GLRU reserves  the right to identify the winner by taking his/her photograph (at no fee) and publishing this in the relevant media as decided by the?GLRU. The GLRU does however acknowledge the prize winner’s right to choose not to be identified and may refuse to have his/her photograph taken and published in printed media or to appear on radio and television.
 
If a prize winner has given his/her written consent, the GLRU has the right to publish the winner’s name and photographs (at no fee) in any advertising, promotional, print, point-of-sale or public relations material. The nature of these publications will be determined at the sole discretion of the GLRU, for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of the lucky draw.
 
Unless the GLRU has been negligent or intended to act in a fraudulent manner, the GLRU, its subsidiaries and associate companies whether wholly or partially owned, its directors, members, partners, employees’ agents or consultants, the suppliers of goods or services are not liable in any way for any direct or indirect loss or damage because of an entrant or prize-winner’s participation in the raffle competition.
 
If the GLRU cannot continue with the raffle competition for any reason beyond its reasonable control or if it is required by regulatory terms or applicable law, the GLRU may end or alter the terms of the raffle competition on condition that: -
No prize-winners have been determined; and
Reasonable notice has been given beforehand to all entrants, which will be posted on the same location and format as the terms and conditions.
If the raffle competition is ended as set out above, no entrant will have any claim of any nature whatsoever against the GLRU, unless the GLRU has been negligent or intended to act in a fraudulent manner.
The GLRU is not obliged to award more than the defined prizes. If the prize is anything other than a cash award, the GLRU will not be liable for any defects or damage to the prize. The winner must refer to the applicable supplier/manufacturer warranty for replacement or repair of the item. Where it is clearly stipulated in the terms and conditions that a third party is responsible to supply the prize awarded by the GLRU;
That a prize will be supplied by a third party, the GLRU will not be liable if such third party fails to comply.

THE PRIZE:
Cannot be transferred and will only be handed over if all details given are factually correct;
Will not be exchanged for cash amounts or for any prize other than the prize offered in this competition;
May be replaced by another prize of the same commercial value if the original prize is not available for any reason beyond the GLRU’s reasonable control.
Once the prize has been handed over in terms of these rules, the results of the raffle are final in all respects and no correspondence will be allowed.
 
AMENDMENTS TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
The GLRU is entitled to amend the terms and conditions thereof in so far as it is deemed necessary and such amendments may relate to any aspect of such raffle competition;
The amendments may include the addition and or deletion of any existing and or proposed terms and conditions of the competition, which amendments may also affect the identified prize value of such raffle competition;
The proposed amendments may be effected prior to the starting date of the competition and during the campaign period, which amendments may result in the campaign period being reduced and or extended as deemed necessary.
