*** VDUB CAMP FESTIVAL 2016 ***Vdub Camp Fest is the biggest South African annual event for enthusiasts of all things German.
The pilgrimage attracts thousands of people who love extraordinary cars, modern entertainment and the outdoor lifestyle.
This two day event is a highlight on the national social and motor industry calendar, and a benchmark for other car shows in Africa.

The first weekend of February is our annual tradition to pay respect to our unique Volkswagen creations.
Supporters and lovers of the VAG scene have a choice of visiting the show for a day (either Sat 6th Feb or Sun 7th Feb).
Or even better yet spend the entire weekend with fellow Vdub enthusiasts in your preference of camping or accommodation.
This year the organizers had a near impossible task of finding a venue that is larger than the previous ATKV Buffelspoort for the 2016 chapter of the event. After several weeks of searching a newly refurbished gem known as Eagle Waters Resort on the southern tip of Hartbeespoort Dam was found and secured for what will be the largest edition of the Vdub Camp Fest show.
The enormous Eagle Waters Resort stretches a total length of 3,6km along the dam’s scenic water edge, with 1,7km of that waterfront dedicated to the actual show area and the remainder along camping and accommodation space.
Notwithstanding the large space of this venue, organizers had to include accommodation at various nearby resorts to cater for the huge demand that the event has established. The previously hosted Hartbeespoort Resort will cater for additional campers once the initial main venue space is sold out. The Orion Venue Hotel as well as Amanzingwe Holiday Resort will cater for patrons who prefer more upmarket standards of accommodation. The massive Magaliespark Resort on the north of the dam will also join in catering for chalet visitors at the final stage of ticket releases in November.
To end off the list of venues involved is the Majestic Waters Villa which is suitable to cater for the larger crew that travels from far and wishes its members to all stay over at a single point. All accommodation destinations and pictures disclosing exact distances to the show area will be posted on social media platforms for ticket buyers’ perusal.
In essence the 2k16 Camp Fest event is taking place across the entire Hartbeespoortdam region. The show has grown to such an extent that there is no single venue that can accommodate the mass of people and vehicles attending therefore all future installments of the event is likely to see the main show hosted at one venue, with accommodation spread across the surrounding town.
The various Scirocco accommodation ticket holders and GTI camping ticket holders will have their own gate for entry /exit. While Vivo Day-visitors will have a separate entrance gate much the same as the 2015 event. Despite the fact that the high volumes of arrivals do result in moderate and inevitable traffic at entrances, event attendees have found that traffic congestion at the most recent event has substantially improved and the organizers will continue their efforts to reduce the bottleneck effect.
The Eagle Waters Resort has well maintained camping facilities, with a reasonable amount of trees for shade. The camp sites are powered (by means of the usual campers power plug) and most have braai stands available. Naturally the best sites are occupied on a first come first served bases so supporters are encouraged to arrive early to choose their preferences of sites.
Owners of cherished show cars will be pleased that the venue internal roads are well maintained and the main road leading past the Show And Shine area is tarred so passing traffic will produce minimal dust. The stage and competition itself does however take place on a lawn turf, Camp Fest is after all popular precisely because of the outdoor atmosphere and the green surroundings that most people are not able to enjoy back at their city offices throughout the year!
The renowned competition will feature a few new categories from 300 competing vehicles and will establish the best cars for the year ahead. The Best Of show winner and partner for 2016 will be winning a trip to the largest global VAG gathering at a town called Reifnitz in Austria. The level of competition at the next show can be expected to be tight to say the least. It is suggested that you get your passport ready if you have any intention of entering and grabbing the ultimate trophy on the SA scene.
Visitors can expect various sponsored live demos and debut displays, unveiling of the latest industry products and innovative Camp Fest activities. Keep a look out for the Streetfighter Champion Edition inspired concept at the next show!
Details regarding a first time rally motorsport concept will also be announced at a later date.
Eagle Waters offers a pool for the accommodation area, two pools for the camping area and one pool for the day visitor area. Organizers will have some additional inflatable slides and outdoor activities brought in for adults and children over Camp Fest weekend.
The event judging and entertainment lineup will once again include international personalities in line with the high standards from past shows.
The 2016 Camp Fest afterparty or "Afterfest" is being hosted as a beach party with impressive line-array sound and lighting.
The entertainment includes a variety of celebrity acts that will be performing from the one-of-a-kind Amsterdam VW Golf build DJ booth.
Another flagship attraction is the Wolfsburg car which will be given away to one lucky supporter, and we will be announcing details of the 2016 vehicle within the next 2 months. For now rest assured that it is something watercooled and a fairly recent model ;)

*FIRST RELEASE (30 September 2015 to 31 October 2015)
Vivo tickets (Day visiting): R80 per person.
This entitles the visitor access from 07h00 until 17h00 on either Saturday or Sunday according to the respective day chosen.
GTI tickets (Early Arrival Dub Camp): R320 per person.
This entitles the visitor to access from 13h00 Friday 5th February 2016, two nights self-catering camping space until end of show at 17h00 Sunday 7th February 2016.
*There is no late arrival (single night) camping option for 2016. All camping tickets are from Friday to Sunday, even if a ticket holder can only attend for 1 night.
Tiguan Tickets (Hartbeespoort Resort Camping): R320 per person.
This ticket allows one person camping for 2 nights (both Friday 5th Feb & Saturday 6th Feb 2016). Camping sites are located at Hartbeespoort Resort. Includes access to event show area at Eagle Waters on Saturday and Sunday, admission to Camp Fest Afterparty as well as entry into the Wolfsburg giveaway car draw.
Caravelle tickets (Eagle Waters Safari House): R450 per person per night.
These guests are compulsory for two nights stay over. Therefore total ticket value per person is R900 and entitles the visitor access from 13h00 Friday 5th February 2016, two nights self-catering safari house accommodation until end of show at 17h00 Sunday 7th February 2016.

Wolfsburg tickets: Every general ticket holder in 2014 stands a chance of winning the Wolfsburg car! No additional or separate ticket purchase is required. If supporters however wish to increase their chances of winning the car they are welcome to purchase additional Wolfsburg Chrome Plus tickets. Each ticket bought is an extra chance of winning.
(Please note that this ticket does not include admission/ entry into the event, it is strictly for additional chances of winning the Wolfsburg car).
*SECOND FINAL RELEASE (1st November 2015 to 1st February 2016)
Vivo tickets (day visiting): R100 per person.
This entitles the visitor access from 07h00 until 17h00 on either Saturday or Sunday according to the respective day chosen.
UP tickets (day visiting – paying at the gate): R120 per person.
This entitles the visitor access from 07h00 until 17h00. *Gate payments cause traffic delays as well as increased security risks and is now surcharged accordingly. Supporters are therefore urged to rather purchase all tickets in advance.
GTI tickets (Early Arrival Dub Camp): R380 per person.
This entitles the visitor to access from 13h00 Friday 5th February 2016, two nights self-catering camping space until end of show at 17h00 Sunday 7th February 2016.

Children's day-visit and camping tickets are not available on pre-sale, the kiddies will be charged at the gate as their age is verified upon entry.
(Even if all general admission tickets are sold out, adults who have valid tickets are allowed to bring children along and pay the rates disclosed above for kiddies).
Children at Caravelle, Caddy, Amarok and Scirocco accommodation:
Any individual who requires their own bed is at normal cover charge. Infants who share a bed with a parent are not charged. Infants are defined as young children under the age of 3 years.

¢) For patrons who are attending this event for the first time, please note that each of the various event attendance options have a ticket name (Eg; Vivo, GTI, Scirocco) that is merely part of the VW brand theme of the event. It does not mean that ticket holders need to own or drive the type of car in accordance with their attendance ticket name. Any make of vehicles may attend the event but only cars from the VAG stable can enter the Show And Shine area.

# GENERAL ADVISORY:
GTI and Tiguan camping sites are adequate for maximum 6 persons. Note that the GTI and Tiguan ticket entitles the visitor to event access, Wolfsburg car draw and camping space only. All camping equipment, tents and sleeping gear must be supplied by the visitor himself/ herself.
Every general or VIP ticket holder in 2016 stands a chance of winning the Wolfsburg car! No additional or separate ticket purchase is required. Should a supporter wish to increase their chances of winning then they are welcome to purchase optional Wolfsburg Chrome Plus tickets. Revenue from the Wolfsburg build supports 6 charity homes annually.
Please note that it is policy from the various accommodation establishments that eg; 4 sleepers require 4 persons, and 6 sleepers require 6 persons for bookings. A supporter may therefore not book a 4 sleeper unit for only 1, 2 or 3 people at a discount. Full capacity for chalets, log cabins, safari units or villas must be purchased even if all the beds in a unit are not occupied.
All accommodation is self-catering and there are general stores, food vendors and/or restaurants on site for catering and common supplies. Food vendors at the show area include halaal.
There are ATMs on site for visitor perusal.
The venue is fully licensed to sell refreshments. Visitors are allowed to bring their own beverage and food but please note the following conditions:
- No glass bottles are permitted into the event. Please purchase refreshments in cans and decant spirits into plastic containers ahead of the event.
- Liquor is allowed at the accommodation areas, camping areas, show area and after party, however no alcohol is permitted at the swimming pools.
All entry tickets will be scanned at our gate box office (ensure that you do not buy tickets off the street).

Full R.O.A.R is applicable for any unruly behaviour and no firearms/ weapons/ dangerous objects will be allowed to enter.
Please note that this is a child friendly event and no spinning of vehicles will be tolerated at the venue.
We urge all patrons not to indulge in any illegal substances and we will have provincial authorities and SAPS on site to deal with transgressors.
