ABOUT

After two highly successful virtual screenings, Zip Zap presents our third in the ‘Night at the Circus’ series. JOURNEY is the very first production of our symphonic circus show. This is a compelling and ground-breaking artistic collaboration between Zip Zap Circus, the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, New Apostolic Church KBA Choir and captivating soloist Robyn Botha.

JOURNEY takes entertainment to the next level and promises to take you on a visual and sensory rollercoaster of pure amazement, jaw-dropping awe and sheer delight. Imagine circus daredevils soaring effortlessly through the sky, cartwheeling and tumbling, juggling and also suspended from gravity-defying heights, all harmoniously blended with stirring orchestral masterpieces.

The circus acts are performed by ordinary children from Zip Zap who have progressed through the programmes andadvanced their skills to a world-class performance level. You will be amazed by their passion, showmanship, strength and agility – goosebumps are guaranteed your imagination will take flight!

It is a breath-taking production with world class circus acts in tandem with a world class orchestra,” says Dr. Marlene Le Roux, CEO, Artscape Theatre Centre.

The show is under the direction of the charismatic Brandon Phillips, CPO’s resident conductor.

“If I have one regret it is that I am facing the wrong way, says Phillips.

This is a family friendly production that was originally performed and recorded at the Artscape Opera House in 2017. As this is a recording, we ask you to be mindful while viewing. We can assure you that the filming and broadcast quality is of a high standard.

Please note the extended window for viewing anytime ‘on-demand’

Many of our fans asked us for more time and time zones to view our circus magic. We have listened to your ask, so viewing will be available from 16h00 on Saturday, 8 August until 22h00 on Sunday 27 September.  That’s almost 7 weeks!

Join us in the front row for our next show in the Night at the Circus series – Journey.
